Ewe Can Knit!
Students will learn the basic knitting stitches to create a wide variety of garments, toys, etc. Stitches taught will be knit, purl, and how to cast on and off.
Studies have shown that knitting provides not only beautiful items of comfort and care, but an opportunity for children to learn patience and attention to detail. Additionally, knitting provides a creative outlet where children make design and color choices, they are also reinforcing math skills, as counting, repeats and multiples are a large part of the knitting process.
Students will create small projects that will build on their acquired skills.
Materials will be provided.
